Cambridge International Education pathway (CIE)
Academic learning follows the Cambridge Lower Secondary pathway in Years 7–9, progressing into IGCSE study in Years 10–11.
We’ve chosen IGCSEs because they are internationally recognised, skills-based, and well suited to learners who benefit from clarity, depth, and conceptual understanding rather than exam-heavy pressure.
Parents retain legal responsibility for exam entry. Emberfield provides tutoring, preparation, and guidance. When the time comes, families book exams privately with approved centres, supported by us throughout the process.
Progress & growth
Progress at Emberfield is multi-dimensional and not always linear. We track academic learning carefully, but it isn’t the only measure of success.
Progress is understood collaboratively with families and we shape meaningful measures of growth together — because success looks different for every young person.
Alongside academic milestones, we look for steady signs of:
emotional regulation and resilience
confidence and engagement
communication and relationships
independence and responsibility
readiness for next steps
Rather than constant assessment or performance pressure, we focus on calm, meaningful signals that a young person is settling, growing, and engaging with learning, the community and life. This offers reassurance without recreating mainstream surveillance or comparison culture.
Our goal
We aim to provide academically credible learning that feels calm, humane, intellectually nourishing and supports learners to leave with:
recognised academic outcomes
strong regulation, confidence, and motivation
practical capability and a clear sense of direction
experience of belonging and healthy relationships
